Concerned About Acne?
Basically acne begins an enlarged hair follicle plugged with oil, dead skin cells and bacteria. Invisible to the naked eye, the stuff beneath the surface of your skin waiting for the right conditions to grow into an inflamed lesion. As the skin continues to produce more oil, bacteria flourish within the swollen follicle. The surrounding skin becomes inflamed as your white blood cells fight against the intruders.
Acne usually develops in puberty due to the surge of testosterone. In many people, acne disappears by early to mid twenties. Others continue to experience it throughout adult life, even though adult acne tends to be milder. Acne is very common. At any given time it affects anywhere from 5 to 15% of the population in the U.S.
I myself don't usually have acne when I was a teenager. I have nice smooth skin. It all started when I'm was in my late 30's. My dermatologist told me it's the stress that causes Acne. Well, I agree with him, when you are stress, your glands produces more oil and when plugged it causes Acne. Then, I started using different Acne medications, even the expensive ones. It didnt go away.
Here is what I have discovered. I read this from Proactiv Solution brochure. Too much Iron in your body may cause Acne. Now I just recall, every weekend I eat a bunch of tiger shrimps sautéed in butter and garlic, oh it was so good, I finished a big plate every weekend. Then I stopped eating shrimp since then.
My Acne started to go away. I am only having it once it a while, one pimple at a time. All of you out there, you can eat shell fish in moderation, too much causes Acne ! and I just proved it!
Now all you have to do is to continue your daily facial regimen to avoid Acne and have a flawless skin.
