Summer Beauty Advice
Even going to work on a summer's day without proper sun protection can damage your eyes and your skin. Exposure UV rays from the sun can cause your skin to age prematurely. Then there's the possibility of a heat stroke from a day out in the summer sun.
Let's start with the basics. You'll need more water in summer as you'd lose more from sweat as your body cools off naturally. Start the day with a large glass of plain water. Drink large glasses of water throughout the day to replenish lost moisture and to hydrate your skin from within. If you do go outdoors, wear a hat, apply sunscreen generously and bring along a bottle of water so you'd be able to drink water throughout a day, in order to reduce the chances of a heatstroke. If you do get a headache after some time in the sun, pouring water over your head might be what you'd need.
Use a sunblock with SPF 15 minimum. That should block off most of the sun's UV rays. Apply it liberally and reapply every two hours as you'd sweat away your protection. If you are swimming, apply it hourly as the water would wash it off.
Lighten up your skincare. Your skin gets oilier in summer and if your skin was normal in winter, chances are it would be oilier and more prone to acne in summer. Combat that by switching to water based moisturizers.
Going to the beach or the pool? Style your hair with leave-in hair conditioner. It'll give you some protection from the elements. Shower right as soon as you can after your water play and shampoo and rinse your hair twice to get rid of all the chlorine and salt that might still be in your hair.
