Porn Stars Are Stars Too

Watching porn can give you the idea that porn stars lead a glamorous life. Many look at porn stars with envy. But we don't realize the amount of hard work porn starts put in to what they do. On the flip side are the struggles and battles they need to fight to get a modeling or acting opportunity. A small minority makes it big instantly. Others hit a dead end and have to look for alternative earning options. Very few are able to grab an opportunity in Hollywood
There are some models who have carved a niche for themselves in this genre of movies and who are recognized worldwide for their acting abilities. To some that statement might sound hilarious, but the fact is that even porn requires acting. Even though porn stars might not be in movies made by Oscar award winning directors, they are in the ones that they enjoy.
It is said that the porn industry chooses women for their acting skills while men are chosen for their looks and screen appeal. I think that is nonsense. Porn stars are chosen just as any other artists are chosen - to fit the role assigned to them.
The life of porn stars is not very different from that of other actors, except they don't get voted for an Oscar award or screen awards. Many are part of families that know about their line of work and accept it willingly. Some are paid between $100,000 and $300,000 per year from movie earnings alone. There are whispers that men get paid more than women, but the porn film fraternity vehemently denies this.
A common childhood fantasy is to grow up to be a pilot. Or maybe a teacher, soldier, bus driver, ice-cream vendor, or someone that captures the imagination of children. But as one grows up, one starts exploring options that childhood does not get exposed to. It is said that many people become porn stars almost by accident. I do not know if that is the truth, but I have to agree that this is certainly not a childhood dream for most.
If you are considering a career in porn, do not be under the silly assumption that this is all about fun. Be it sex or any other act, performances will always be demanding. All actors work hard to make a living.
